Recommended for websites with lots of visitors (traffic) or custom requirements – VPS hosting. This service is geared for webmasters who want to resell their own web hosting service.
What is Shared Hosting?
HostGator’s shared hosting is ideal for small to medium businesses or organizations. As your hosting provider, HostGator will manage your shared server for you. With shared hosting, you get to host unlimited websites on the same server as long as you comply with our Terms of Service. HostGator offers different hosting packages that you can choose from depending on your website’s needs and purposes. A shared server being used by multiple users does not provide root access to its users.
If you are expecting a burst of traffic on your website, then it’s best to upgrade to a more powerful hosting package. Shared hosting has storage limitations. A higher email capacity is required. Your business may require updates on visual content that may be resource-extensive for your shared hosting. You may also require custom installs or configurations on your server, which can only be done through VPS or Dedicated hosting.
